Ethnomusicologist releases book on earliest style of Macedonian vocal music

Ars Lamina has published Gjorgji Gjorgiev's "The Oldest Style of Macedonian Folk Singing," a comprehensive study of Macedonian narration through song. The book focuses on the earliest forms of Macedonian female vocal practice, including certain rite songs and work songs often containing vocables.
