Siljanovska-Davkova pays respects at Ljubljana’s Monument to the Victims of All Wars

Ljubljana, 18 May 2026 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, as part of her official visit to Ljubljana, paid her respects Monday at the Monument to the Victims of All Wars and Victims Connected with Wars in Slovenia.

In a post on her official Facebook page, the President wrote that monuments honoring the victims of wars not only bear witness to the tragedies of the past but also remind of the price humanity pays when reason and dialogue fail.

“In front of the Monument to the Victims of All Wars and Victims Connected with Wars in Ljubljana I paid my respects to all innocent victims whose destinies remained engraved in the collective memory of nations,” Siljanovska-Davkova said.

In the context of ongoing global tensions and armed conflicts, Siljanovska-Davkova highlighted the necessity of constantly looking for peaceful resolutions because, she wrote, “human suffering must not become the new normal”.
