Siljanovska-Davkova – Stevanović: Unblocking Euro-integration process and enhancing parliamentary cooperation

Ljubljana, 18 May 2026 (MIA) - As part of her official visit to the Republic of Slovenia, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met Monday with the Speaker of the Slovenian Parliament, Zoran Stevanović.
At the meeting, Siljanovska-Davkova highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the role of legislatures in preserving institutional continuity and strengthening mutual trust.
She welcomed the work of the parliamentary cooperation groups and noted the need for further enhancement of parliamentary ties.
The President said Slovenia, as a bridge between the Balkans and Central and Western Europe, knows well the historical and regional circumstances and clearly recognizes the importance of regional cooperation and the European integration of the region.
Stevanović stressed Slovenia will continue to be a friend and supporter of the Macedonian Euro-integration process.
He reaffirmed the readiness to promote parliamentary and overall cooperation through more intensive communication and exchange of experiences through the Macedonian and Slovenian institutions.
Siljanovska-Davkova and Stevanović agreed on the need to unblock the Macedonian Euro-integration process, and pointed to the necessity of closer cooperation.
