Bangkok, 7 August 2026 (dpa/MIA) - At least seven people were killed and several others injured in a shooting at a school in Thailand, local media reported on Friday.

The Khaosod newspaper, citing local disaster management authorities, said the dead were believed to include three teachers, three students and the teenage gunman. The motive was initially unclear.

The shooting occurred in the morning at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Nonthaburi province, north of Bangkok.

According to initial investigations, the suspected gunman was a student. Security forces said he apparently shot himself after the attack.

Panic broke out among students and teachers inside the building, according to the report.

Police and emergency services were deployed in large numbers, while students, teachers and other staff were evacuated from the campus.

Disaster management authorities said 15 people had been injured, at least one of them critically.
