Vinica, 8 June 2026 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski expressed regret Monday that the opposition party SDSM continues, as he said, to be the soft tissue in the Macedonian national identity.

Asked by reporters after a working visit to the company Makprogres in Vinica to comment on SDSM’s position on the country’s EU integration process expressed at Sunday’s party congress, Mickoski said SDSM presented nothing new. 

“Unfortunately, SDSM keeps on being the soft tissue in Macedonian national identity. After once being a state-building party, it has turned into a group fighting to protect its own interest. There is nothing we can do here; it is what it is. Sometimes it’s perhaps better not to comment on everything they say,” stated Mickoski.
