Skopje, 20 July 2026 (MIA) - With 88 votes in favor and none against or abstaining, Parliament approved on Monday the Government’s decision to extend the state of crisis on oil and oil derivatives until October 20.
The Government decided to extend the state of crisis at a session on July 17, due to continued risks of disruption in the supply of oil and oil derivatives.
The decision, the Government said in a press release, extends the state of crisis as of July 21 until October 20, ensuring consistent institutional action and swift response in the event of supply disruptions or significant price shocks on the international oil and oil derivatives markets.
"The purpose of this decision is for the Government to have an appropriate legal mechanism for a swift and efficient response, in order to preserve stability in supply, mitigate consequences of possible market disruptions and protect the interests and living standards of citizens and the economy. The Government will continue to closely monitor the situation on the domestic and international energy market and, if circumstances so require, will continue to take timely and appropriate measures in the interest of a secure, stable and uninterrupted supply of oil and oil derivatives," reads the press release.
