Skopje, 10 August 2026 (MIA) - This day serves as a reminder of the heroes who laid their lives down in 2001 while defending Macedonia, says Deputy PM and Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski on the observance of the 25th anniversary since the death of eight Macedonian defenders at Ljubotenski Bachila.

"We paid our respects to the eight reservists in the Ilinden army barracks. Their courage and commitment to defending the homeland deserve utmost respect, as do their families who have been living with their loss for 25 years," Deputy PM Nikoloski wrote in a Facebook post.
