Skopje, 11 August 2026 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Tuesday with Nicole Varnes, Chargé d'Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Skopje.

“In the meeting, we once again reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations, witnessed by the political dialogue and high-level regular meetings. We discussed reform processes as well as future activities aimed at further improving the relations with a special focus on political and economic cooperation,” Mucunski wrote in a Facebook post.

Amid rising security challenges and risks, it was noted in the meeting., the American-Macedonian strategic partnership, security cooperation and being NATO allies is of great importance for stability and security.

“We reaffirmed our mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and improving friendly relations all the while welcoming the recent second session of the Strategic Dialogue in Washington,” Mucunski said.
