Skopje, 8 June 2026 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski when asked for a comment on Bulgaria’s blockade of the minority action plan said Monday it is perhaps a policy that lasts for decades.

Former political elites, he added, had failed to recognize it thus making major problems that the government is now trying to fix it one by one.

“I guess they were short-sighted or they were motivated by personal interests believing if they had signed a white paper, all problems would have be solved. This is not how it goes in the real work, in realpolitik. Unfortunately, they created major problems that we now have to solve one by one.”

“We will fight, which in fact it’s our duty. You have to fight for everything in your life, nothing in life is easy. We’ve shown we know how to win, we will win this time too, but I ask for patience,” Mickoski stated after attending the inauguration of a new Makprogres plant in Vinica.

On Saturday, Mickoski said the minority action plan was completed and aligned with a European Commission expert and has been aligned, unofficially, with 26 member countries. “It hasn’t been aligned with one member which is against us being part of the Three Sees initiative,” he stressed.
