Skopje, 20 May 2026 (MIA) – I absolutely do not support foreign meddling into Macedonia’s internal policies, which was the case the other day, and also, we, the government, do not intend to interfere in the internal and independent policies of other countries, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Wednesday when asked by reporters to comment on the yesterday’s protest in Skopje and the upcoming Kumanovo rally in support of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

During a visit to the Municipality of Gjorche Petrov, speaking to reporters, Mickoski also condemned the behaviour of the opposition party DUI for “failing for 20 years to solve the problems of students who have protested demanding they take the bar exam in Albanian.”

“I always support protests as a democratic right. But I’m personally bothered by some of the protesters, who are studying law themselves, are breaking laws, including the law on flags or the law on the state anthem and the Constitution. I won’t comment on the insults, I believe it is something your parents teach you until the age of seven, I won’t comment on the violent incident and I won’t comment on the foreign meddling in the internal affairs of Macedonia,” stated the prime minister.  

Mickoski said his government is working on finding a permanent solution to this problem and many others inherited from former administrations. 

When also asked for a comment on the upcoming rally, to be held in support of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Kumanovo, PM Mickoski said he doesn’t support any foreign meddling of the internal affairs of Macedonia. 

“I absolutely do not support foreign meddling into Macedonia’s internal policies, which was the case the other day, and also, we, the government, do not intend to interfere in the internal and independent policies of other countries,” he concluded.
