Skopje, 23 July 2026 (MIA) - Citizens who suffered damage from the storm should report it to the municipal commissions, after which the government will act in accordance with legal procedures and provide compensation, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Thursday.

Answering a journalist’s question during the official opening of Kavadarci’s renovated swimming pool, PM Mickoski explained that municipalities and their institutions are setting up commissions to assess the storm damage.

“Regarding the compensation of citizens who suffered damage from the storm, I can only say that municipalities and institutions under their jurisdiction are forming commissions. Citizens who have suffered damage should report it to these commissions, which will assess the damage and immediately submit the assessments to the government’s damage assessment committee. In accordance with the law and established practice, we will intervene and compensate those who have reported damages,” Mickoski said.

He urged citizens to report the damages incurred in a timely manner so that the legal procedure for assessment and compensation can be carried out.
