Skopje, 13 August 2026 (MIA) - The diplomatic-consular office in Thessaloniki informed us that Greek institutions have still not provided any official information on the number of evacuated Macedonian nationals from the areas affected by wildfires in Greece, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (MFAFT) told MIA.

Macedonian nationals have reached out to the office for information and were given the guidelines and instructions issued by the Greek authorities.

The Ministry says it is closely monitoring developments, with additional information or urgent assistance available at +389 75 268 736 or by e-mail at globalsos@mfa.gov.mk. In addition, the Thessaloniki-based consulate can be reached at +30 694 526 8068 and +389 71 323 001.

MFAFT urges Macedonian nationals who are currently staying in the affected areas to follow the guidelines and instructions by the competent local authorities.
