Skopje, 20 May 2026 (MIA) – The minimal consumer basket in May 2026 stands at Mden 68,743 (EUR 1,115), down by Mden 54 over the one in April when it stood at Mden 68,797 (EUR 1,116), the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) said on Wednesday.

According to SSM, renting a 60m2 apartment, the minimal consumer basket for May stands at Mden 84,117 (EUR 1,364).

In May, the cost of food and beverages in the minimal consumer basket stands at Mden 25,475 (EUR 414), Mden 7,192 (EUR 117) are required for education costs, Mden 6,334 (EUR 103) for clothing and footwear, Mden 6,338 (EUR 103) for rent, water, electricity and heating and Mden 5,041 (EUR 82) for transport.
