Skopje, 2 September 2026 (MIA) - World-renowned tenor José Carreras gave a concert Tuesday evening at Skopje’s Macedonia Square, alongside Macedonian music stars and the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra as part of a series of cultural events marking the 35th anniversary of Macedonia's independence.

The audience enjoyed the nearly four-hour concert during which the Spanish tenor performed two duets with Karolina Kocheva and returned three times to the stage for an encore.

The highlight of the concert was the joint performance of the song "Edno Ime Imame" (We Have One Name), which included all the stars as well as Carreras.

The concert was part of the program designed to mark the 35th anniversary of Macedonia's independence, which is set to be concluded on September 8, Independence Day, with a concert by French DJ and producer David Guetta at Skopje’s Tose Proeski National Arena.
