Government strongly condemns act of setting vehicles of Bulgarian embassy on fire

Skopje, 15 June 2026 (MIA) - The Government strongly condemned Monday the act of setting diplomatic vehicles near the Bulgarian Embassy to Skopje on fire.

These acts represent an attack on the principles of security, diplomatic relations and international law, and have no place in a democratic country, the Government said in a press release.

It adds that institutions are already taking measures to identify the perpetrators.

The Government wants to send a clear message that any attempt to stir tensions, spread hatred or undermine security will be severely sanctioned. The state will respond to the full extent and will not allow for individuals to damage the country's image. We expect swift and efficient investigation and criminal responsibility for the perpetrators. The Government remains firmly committed to protecting all citizens and diplomatic missions in the country, while maintaining stability, security and goodneighborly relations, reads the press release.
