Skopje, 20 July 2026 (MIA) – The results of the water quality tests in Gostivar, conducted by the Institute of Public Health, will be submitted to the Public Prosecutor’s Office later today, Institute Director Marija Andonovska said at Monday’s press conference at the government.
“It is not enough merely to determine the cause. What is most important is to establish accountability. No one should be allowed to endanger the health of citizens. As an Institute, we will continue to monitor the epidemiological situation,” Andonovska said.
Asked by reporters to disclose the cause of the situation in Gostivar, Health Minister Sasho Klekovski said the findings would be made public once the Public Prosecutor’s Office authorizes their release.
“The analyses were conducted at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office and once it gives its approval for the results to be disclosed, we will make them public. We do not want to interfere with the investigation,” Klekovski said, adding that food has been ruled out as the cause.
