Berlin, 13 October 2025 (dpa/MIA) - Ghana qualified for a men's World Cup for the fifth time on Sunday after a 1-0 win over Comoros in Accra secured top spot in Group I.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Mohammed Kudus netted on 47 minutes after Thomas Partey's assist.

The Black Stars will be heading to the US, Canada and Mexico next June alongside Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco.

More of the nine guaranteed African spots in the expanded 48-team tournament are to be decided in the coming days. One place may also be available through intercontinental play-offs.

Ghana's best showing at a World Cup was the quarter-finals in 2010.
