Skopje, 12 June 2026 (MIA) – Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi addressed Friday the North Macedonia - Türkiye business forum in Istanbul where he highlighted the government’s commitment to creating predictable, competitive and investment-oriented business environment, aimed at stimulating new investments, economic growth and deepening of economic cooperation between the two countries.

In his address, Minister Durmishi said Türkiye is one of North Macedonia’s most important economic partners with trade being on the rise and Turkish companies playing a key role for decades as investors, employers and partners in the development of the Macedonian economy. 

“North Macedonia is open for new investments and new partnerships. We’re offering stable macroeconomic policy, strategic geographical location, access to regional markets, qualified workforce and strong institutional support for investors. More importantly, we’re offering partnership based on trust and long-term cooperation,” said Minister Durmishi. 

Friday’s business forum, aimed at strengthening economic relations and promoting the investment potential of North Macedonia before the Turkish business community, is taking place in Istanbul.

The forum is being held under the Investor Map project, part of the Programme supporting the implementation of the National Development Strategy, led by the Government of North Macedonia and the General Secretariat, and implemented in cooperation with UNDP. The forum aims to connect institutions and the business sectors of both countries through direct contacts and discussions focused on opening new opportunities for cooperation and joint investments.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski is expected to participate in the event, leading a government delegation of ministers from the economic, energy and infrastructure sectors.

The forum is hosted by the Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat and is organised by the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye and DEİK - Foreign Economic Cooperation Board.
