Skopje, 14 August 2026 (MIA) - The Crisis Management Center (CMC) said it registered a total of 40 wildfires across the country by 7:30 am on Friday. Six of them are active, three are under control, and 31 have been put out.

Active fires are burning near the villages of Morane, Vrtekica and Ramni Gaber in the Municipality of Studenichani, near the village of Dragov Dol in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod, near the village of Lopatica in the Municipality of Bitola, near the villages of Makovo, Mojno and Brnik in the Municipality of Novaci, between the village of Aldanci and the village of Norovo in the Municipality of Krushevo, and near the village of Slp in the Municipality of Veles. 

Fires at the landfill in Delchevo, near the villages of Loznani and Vasharejca in the Municipality of Mogila, and the village of Kopance in the Municipality of Jegunovce are under control. 

The CMC said the extinguished fires were registered in the municipalities of Saraj (3), Prilep (6), Krivogashtani, Krushevo and Dolneni, Novo Selo, Vasilevo, Ohrid (2), Struga (2), Kichevo (2), Chashka, Veles, Kavadarci (2), Kumanovo, Lipkovo, Jegunovce (2), Tetovo, Vrapchishte, and Gostivar (2).
