Skopje, 22 May 2020 (MIA) – 23 new COVID-19 cases have been registered in North Macedonia in the past 24 hours, while nine patients have recovered and one passed away, the Ministry of Health said in a press release Friday.
A 47-year-old patient from Tetovo, admitted for treatment at the “8 September” hospital in Skopje on May 21, has passed away.
New coronavirus cases have been registered in Skopje – 12, Tetovo – 4, Kumanovo – 4, Prilep – 2, Negotino – 1.
This brings the tally of coronavirus patients in North Macedonia since the onset of the epidemic to 1,921. Of these 1,387 people have recovered, 112 passed away, while the number of active cases in the country is 422.
Thus, of the 1,898 coronavirus patients in North Macedonia now, Skopje has 685 (of which 178 active), Kumanovo-423 (of which 27 active), Debar-51, Shtip-38 (of which 3 active), Prilep-206 (of which 56 active), Tetovo-165 (of which 76 active), Struga-71 (of which 4 active), Veles-127 (of which 49 active), Bitola-28 (of which 9 active), Ohrid-21 (of which 6 active), Kavadarci-5, Gostivar-21 (of which 4 active), Gevgelija-4, Strumica-3 (of which 1 active), Kriva Palanka-6 (of which 1 active), Radovish-4, Krushevo-3, Kochani-31, Probishtip-2, Kichevo-2, Negotino-10 (of which 3 active and 7 are residents of Demir Kapija), Demir Hisar-1, Makedonski Brod-2, Pehchevo-3 (of which 1 active), Delchevo-1, Valandovo-1, Vinica-3 (of which 1 active, Kratovo-2 (of which 1 active), Berovo-1 (active), Sveti Nikole-1 (active).
Over the past 24 hours, 702 coronavirus tests have been carried out, of which 365 within the screening process.
According to the Ministry, eight new patients were admitted at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in the past 24 hours. A total of 56 patients are being treated for COVID-19 there at the time. Two patients are on ventilator, while 32 are in critical condition.
Six new patients have been admitted at the “8 September” hospital in Skopje. A total of 16 patients are being treated for COVID-19 there now. Six patients shows severe symptoms and five others are put on ventilators.
Eight COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Bitola, while three are treated for the infection at home. In Shtip, five coronavirus patients are being treated at the hospital, and no patients are being treated at home.
A total of 44 patients, who have tested positive or show coronavirus symptoms, are being treated for COVID-19 at the infectious diseases wards in the hospitals in Tetovo, Veles, Kumanovo, Prilep and Ohrid, the press release read.
