Bogota, 10 July 2020 (dpa/MIA) – Bolivia‘s interim president Jeanine Anez on Thursday said she has tested positive for Covid-19 but was feeling “well.”
“I tested positive for Covid-19, I’m feeling well, I’m working from isolation,” Anez said in a tweet accompanied by a video statement.
The interim leader said that she got tested for the disease after “many” members of her team resulted positive in the past few weeks.
She said she will take a new test after two weeks of isolation, adding that she was feeling “strong.”
Health Minister Eidy Roca last week tested positive for Covid-19 after travelling around to coordinate action against the pandemic. On Thursday she said she was feeling well and recovering.
Meanwhile, Minister of the Presidency Yerko Nunez was hospitalized due to coronavirus-related complications, his office said on Sunday.
Anez on Saturday also confirmed that Mining Minister Jorge Fernando Oropeza had tested positive.
On Monday, Labour Minister Oscar Mercado went into precautionary isolation after being in contact with coronavirus-infected staff. The minister had earlier tested negative for the disease.
