Kabul, 9 August 2020 (dpa/MIA) – The Afghan grand assembly has advised the government to release 400 Taliban prisoners, in an official resolution marking the end of a three-day meeting.
The release of the remaining Taliban prisoners is considered the last barrier to the planned intra-Afghan talks.
A 25-article resolution read in the assembly on Sunday also called for an immediate ceasefire and asked the US and other international communities to “remain committed to their pledge.”
