Skopje, 13 September 2019 (MIA) – Third- and fourth-graders from Skopje’s Kiro Gligorov Elementary School visited Villa Vodno to meet President Stevo Pendarovski, marking the start of the “Open Days at the President of North Macedonia’s Office.”
As part of the Face to Face with the President project, citizens will be able to meet with the head of state at least twice a month, the President’s Office wrote in a press release.
During today’s visit, the schoolchildren witnessed a flag ceremony and listened to the national anthem, the release adds.
After touring the President’s workplace, they met some of his aides and gave Pendarovski artwork they had made ahead of the visit.
The children talked with the President about what he does and were as curious about his duties as about his personal life.
Some of them said they wanted to become President or an aide. To that, Pendarovski responded that they should focus on being good human beings, before anything else.
“Citizens expect a lot of you,” he said. “It’s essential that citizens know that I work for them.”
Any citizen or organization can visit the President in person at his office and share their opinions after applying at http://pretsedatel.mk/?page_id=3016, the release reads. mr/
