Evgenij Pop Acev wins 6th Veles Marathon Swim

Evgenij Pop Acev, a member of Vardar 2018 Swimming Club, won the sixth Veles Marathon Swim, completing the 10km race in 2 hours 10 minutes 26 seconds.

Skopje, 15 September 2019 (MIA) – Evgenij Pop Acev, a member of Vardar 2018 Swimming Club, won the sixth Veles Marathon Swim, completing the 10km race in 2 hours 10 minutes 26 seconds.

Neptune Swimming Club’s Aleksandar Ilievski won second place with a time of 2 hours 11 minutes 50 seconds.

In the men’s 5km race, Andrej Stojanovski of Neptune finished first, Bozidar Mircevski of Rabotnicki finished second, and Petar Kraljevski of Aqua finished third.

The first female finisher in the 5km swim was Jana Kostadinovska. Kalina Stojcevska was second and Ilina Jordanovska third. All three are Mladost Swimming Club members.

The fastest three swimmers in the men’s 2.5km race were Borjan Davkovski, David Jordanov, and Sidrid Desku.

In the women’s 2.5 race, Kalina Stojanovska placed first and Antonija Andovska second.

Competing in this year’s Veles Marathon Swim were 80 swimmers from Turkey, Kosovo, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia.

Organizers are hoping the event becomes part of the FINA Champions Swim Series next year. mr/
