Skopje, 23 January 2019 (MIA) – Out of 6,374 new jobs on the labor market last year, around 53% went to people under 29, Minister of Labor and Social Policy Mila Carovska told a news conference Wednesday.
Summing up the Government’s 2018 Operational Plan for Active Employment results, Carovska said it was 95% implemented.
She also said it promoted gender equality, noting that 54% of participants in its programs were women.
“We view this as an extraordinary success and a significant contribution towards greater inclusion of women on the labor market,” Carovska said.
Employment Service Agency director Biljana Jovanovska said their computer literacy courses attracted hundreds of unemployed people.
“There was great interest for participating in our computer skills classes,” Jovanovska said, adding that 139 people applied to take the Agency’s basic computer skills course and 100 people applied to take the advanced class. mr/15:33
